The Fresno Sheriff's Department follows a more restrictive policy, and these officers are still committed to catching the bad guys. They are just doing their job in a safer -- smarter -- way.
The California Highway Patrol, Clovis Police Department, Sanger Police Department, and other surrounding law enforcement departments in the San Joaquin Valley do not restrict pursuits. They will chase for seat-belt violations, minor traffic offenses and property crimes.
